Under 10 Premier
Naas AFC White 10 Athy Town 0
Athy travelled to Naas with only seven players and this made a tough fixture even harder for them. The game was played on a lovely pitch and referee John Foley had a very good game. Athy were under pressure from the start as Naas passed the ball well from the first minute. Athy held their shape well and worked hard to keep the score to one nil after the first quarter. Eoghan Merriman got the goal with a neat finish. Naas resumed the next quarter at a very high tempo and added two goals in two minutes with a typical strong finish from Patrick and a lovely goal from Eoghan. Naas were really playing well but Athy never stopped trying. Kayer got in on the act in the third quarter and scored two in six minutes both following interceptions, strong running and good finishing. Between kayer's goals John poppped up with a neat finish. Luke then came out of goal where he had made two great saves and was only beaten once from close range. He scored two goals in a minute in the fourth quarter and then Nicholas grabbed the goal he was mad to get. Luke then completed his hat trick. Matthew, Hugo and Callum did not get on the scoresheet but played very well. Athy should be congratulated on playing right to the end.
